Starting tearing down the front axle today. Got the shafts out, and the calipers off. Also had a chance to cut the leaf spring mounts off. I was surprised at how well the passenger knuckle cleaned up with the wire wheel. Have some more with a cut off wheel than a grinder. Ill wire wheel the whole thing so remove all surface rust, and a little sanding and spray some primer.

The axle came out of an 02 F350 that caught on fire. The axle was undamaged other than melted truck on the passenger knuckle.

This will be mounted on it.

 

cant wait to see it! are you going to stay full width? what are you going to do for a rear axle?
