Default XK Glow underbody led light kit

I just finished installing the XK Glow Rock Crawler underbody LED light kit. Besides installing new tail lights this was my first experience with any type of wiring. It took me about 6 hours (three separate sessions) but I'm sure someone savvy can knock it out in half the time. I took my time making sure every connection was strong and properly taped. The LED pods are waterproof, so I tried my best to waterproof all the connections as well. The kit includes a convenient wireless remote I keep on my key chain. A bit smaller and sleeker than your average car door opener. The kit cost $115.00. I'm happy with the purchase. The quality is great and the LED's are vivid. Only con is that the included wire is not even close to the amount you'll need. A quick trip to Home Depot for some 18 wire at $.12 per foot solved the problem. I purchased 50 feet of each color (red/black) and just had enough to get the job done. Again I'm sure someone with experience could get the job done with less. The kit came with 18 LED pods. The plan was to install three in the front, three in the back, and six on each side. I ended up with one less in the front. I could not find a convenint spot for the middle pod.

They also come in handy when walking towards your rig at night. I got the idea that it would be awesome to incorporate this system with your current opener. So that everytime you unlock your doors the lights turn on. That is asking for a lot of "know how" but just an idea. Maybe a system like that already exisit?

I installed the LED strips under my jeep. They give off a lot of light.

I bought them off eBay. I just cut them to the length I needed for each side and wired them together. Search LED light strips on eBay and I got about 16ft for 10$ and bought wire separate. They have double sided tape and they have been on for a little over a year through all kinds of weather. I also have orange inside and no issues there either.

Did you wire them to a switch?
