2010 JK vs. 2012 JK

I own a '12 JK 4dr rubicon with 3" lift, 35's and 4:10 with auto tranny. My buddy lent me his '10 JK Sahara, no lift, bigger tires (285-75-18), gearing? auto tranny. His is a pig. I was amazed at how much less power his has over mine. And, the GY duratracs....... He just had his tires rebalanced, says he does about once a year and they still felt uneven. They are definitely louder than and ride worse than the Nitto Trail Grapplers I am running. Just thought I would post a quick head to head comparison (as close as can be anyway).

I have a 2010 sport 6spd riding on 285/70R17 GY duratracs. Jeep is very slow, tires are very quiet. As for your friend he has to keep rebalancing his tires  hate to bust your bubble but somebody somewhere does not know what they are doing. Tires or tire are probably warped or the person who is doing the balancing doesn't know how either way somebody should have figured something out.

Not busting my bubble. His jeep, not my concern. I will say, I'm not a fan of GY tires. Never have been. Multiple reasons.

Thanks for the reminder that my 3.8 engine sucked

I actually don't mind the 3.8 to bad. It's not fast. Or ultra powerful. But for daily driving its great and I'm getting close to 20 mpg consistently. But I'm also bone stock when it comes to tires an suspension. So I assume once I go bigger that'll change. But for now I'm enjoying the $50 fill from the gas light.

I get better mileage too. Just thought I would share. I averaged 14 for the week. I get about 16 average with my Rubi 3.6.

on your 2012 - did you replace front drive shaft after the lift? reading the 2012 complicates adding even adding a 2.5" lift vs. 2011 and prior

I blame the auto transmission. My 6speed with proper gearing does decent.

$50 from the gas light!? Clearly I'm living in the wrong spot. Is $80+ from the light.

 Envious, but bookmarking this thread for the day we hear about his warranty just expiring and the head decides to take a dump on the very same day on the 3.6.
