Default Are the 2011

the same as 2007-2010 as far as lift's go? Or did they change. A friend of mine just bought a JKU 2011 and wants a 3" spring lift, he wont be doing much offroading.
I looked on RC but they don't show 2011 stuff yet. Any help would help fellas. Thanks.

For the most part they are the same. There is a new frame crossmember that is just in front of the transfercase frame crossmember. The new crossmember is just a 1x2" square shaped tube that is bolted on. Some people have noted that this new crossmember may interfere with the front driveshaft at full suspension droop after the Jeep has been lifted. I have a 2.5" lift on my 2011 JK, and it looks like there is plenty of room between the driveshaft and the new crossmember to me. Even if there was contact when a taller lift is used, worst case scenario, just remove three bolts and remove the new crossmember. It doesn't do anything anyway.

I put a 2.5 Terflex on my 2011 Rubi Unlimited and it worked great. I noticed the new cross member as well, but on my lift I have plenty of clearance for the driveshaft boot that I keep hearing is getting torn up on lifts of 3" or more. All other things have installed, i.e., bumpers, skids, etc with no problems.

I think it functions as a cheap "skid plate" for the transmission. Go look at a 2011, and you'll see that that new crossmember isn't strong enough to provide any structural support. It also interferes with long arm suspension lifts, and needs to be removed when people install those lifts.
