2011 vs 2012
Anyone know what the differences will be between these year models?
I'm at the dealership for service right now, and have been walking the lot looking at the 2011 models. I know not everyone is a fan, but I think the new interior looks pretty damn good. I'm so tempted to get a new JK, but since I've got the lifetime powertrain I can't seem to bring myself to give that up willingly until they void my warranty for some bullcrap reason.

This seems to cover a lot of the changes (speculated changes)

I was curious what the big differences will be with the 2012 models due to come out soon.
You mean 4 months old it was start 1/14/2011.
But it is being updated everyday.
Some on here are willing to wait and see what is has to offer.
Others are going to wait for a year after to see what bugs are in it.
Some don't care
Some are going with the 2011 because of deals and the potential added cost in the 2012 version.

The Engine will be the big one. Confirmed by a Jeep Rep at the Moab Jeep Safari. He would not tell me what it is, but said the JK will be getting a new engine for 2012.

Ok so the 2012 is getting the new 3.6 pentastar engine and a 5 speed auto tranny. The new engine is going to be good for about 280hp and about a 10% increase in fuel economy.. Not many other changes.. But these are for sure 100%..
looking at the 2011 makes me think that the wrangler is turning into a car...
there will be those that would say that about all JK's though...
i for one will hopefully never have to part with my 2008...
i love it and it's rugged enough 4 me...

Totally agree with you. I looked at the 2011 between the matching hard tops and the inside I am not a fan either. I have a hard top that I take on and off and couldn't imagine doing that with matching colored top with all the damn nicks I get in the hard top now. Than again some people love the new interiors and matching hard tops.
