2012 JK defective head finally fixed
My 2012 unlimited has ticked like a bad watch since the day I bought it. Each dealership said it was normal. Last week, the check engine light finally came on and threw code P0304, misfire on cylinder #4. I took the Jeep in Friday, they again said the tick was normal and flashed the computer. Again I told them that there was a problem with defective heads, but they insisted that Jeep required them to flash the computer with an update before doing anything further and to just bring it back if the light came on again. It came on as I pulled in my driveway. I took it back on Tuesday and the agreed to replace the head. Picked the Jeep up today. To say that it sounds better is an understatement. I'll let you hear it for yourself.
I recorded both videos with the same iphone, the same way.

Here is after, and yes it is running the whole time:

So if you have a 2012 and it doesn't sound like # 2, I'd take it to the dealer...

I can't believe they didn't do something in the beginning. Anyone who can hear can tell there was something wrong in the first vid. I'm guessing that dealerships name is Helen Keller Jeep?

So when I first took it to the dealership who fixed it, they compared it to a new one on the lot. It sounded the same. When I picked it up I complained and they grabbed a handful of keys and started several (I think 5 or 6) so I could hear them. They all sounded close to mine. I couldn't argue much because they all sounded like mine. This issue is HUGE because more seem to have the problem than don't. The first dealer I took it to said the same thing as well. Sounds like the others.
