Good Lord...... It is only 50 something for a cummins oil change ( guess that was 6 months ago )
A diesel is the only thing that could make me consider trading my JK
BTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I put my stock tires back on my JK ( 17 inch Moab rims and 255/75/17 Goodyear SRA ............. and now am getting 18.5 combined city/ highway 55 mph fuel economy...................was only getting 15.5 with tire rim combo in my signature!!!!!

I can't speak for the 3.0 CRD, but I bought the wife a Mercedes GL320CDI for Christmas and it is the perfect engine. The GL weighs over 5000lbs. You would not know it was a diesel standing next to it, nor smell any diesel scent back at the exhaust.
This is what we need for our JK's!!

I have both a Grand with the CRD and a JK. The 3.0L MB motor is wonderful. Yes the oil changes are expensive but no more than any other diesel with a particulate filter. Once we see more of them on the road the cost of the oil will start to come down. I would love to have the JK with the CRD!! Once you have driven a diesel off road you will never want to go back to the gas....

Diesel would be off the HOOK
Yep yep:
a CRD would be a welcome addition to the JK. If you're going to go diesel, though...what about the Cummins 5.9? I'm sure most of you guys read that multi issue write-up in "Petersen's 4WOR" about the Rubi-Wagon that they took on UA2007. Now THAT'S a diesel with some cahones, tu sabes?

I'd pay 4000 more for the 3.0, no problem... as long as I didn't have to buy every other option in the book for the right to get the diesel. that would bump the price of my unlimited 4x4 to almost (gasp) 28,000!

Oh, that's a pisser
Oh man, I didn't know that. Well, I'm all for refining the diesel technology, as long as it can provide gobs of low end torque for climbing and getting out of mud/sand. Definitely kudos if they can augment the low emissions technology as well.
