4.0 replacing the 3.8 starting in '09
I heard it from a guy who heard it from a guy who works for Jeep (isn't that haow they all get started?).
Is it true? Does everyone else but me already know this? I would love to get my I6 4.0 back. |
I seriously doubt this one, since they went to the 3.8 to consolidate engines and get rid of the 4.0
After driving the 3.8 for 17K miles, I'm starting to like it more, or maybe I'm just forgetting the 4.0?;) |

Chrysler is engineering a new 4.0. It is a V6, not the old inline 6.

Probably the 4.0 SOHC V6 that's in the Nitro, new Minivans, etc. 255 HP would be nice though.

I doubt we will see this happening:naw:
Though if it did I might be as happy as Jeep annocing that they are going to have a diesel in the 09 JK's:happycry: :WootJump:  :ya: Diesel is more than 0.40 cents per gallon higher than regular unleaded......:eek2: The diesel in stock form only gets like 6 miles to the gallon better than the gas engine..... That price just ruined the biggest reason for going DIESEL:crazyeyes: |
Have you noticed any "clicking noise" coming from the engine? Sounds kinda like a valve noise but coming from the underside?
|
Even with diesel being 40 cents per gallon more it averages out to be about 2 cents less per mile to drive.
