4 Door JK roof rack
Just got my JK in the fall I want to put a rack on top. I have been shopping around I have kayaks and snow boards and use both tops (hard soft). What is great all around?

For a quickie type rack, the Thule system mounts to the rain gutters on the hard top & the door surrounds on the soft. They also make a rollbar mount. However, it won't work on the soft top with the top up.
It all depends on what you're willing to spend. GOBI & MBRP make great racks but they're expensive.

I really like my Warrior Products rack. I can fit 2 canoes's with extensions or up to 7 bikes. Most offroad trips it will hold long items like canopies, fishing rod case and other lightweight gear that is bulky or just doesn't fit in the back. Going forward I may not use it as much for trips as I now have an off road trailer, but it's very useful around town to haul lumber, PVC pipes, etc.
The only issue is that it doesn't flip up to lower a soft top, but not a big deal as it's usually too hot to lower the top, so I leave it up to give me shade. To remove the top, I unscrew the arms in the back, unlatch it and slide it out. Prtetty easy to do, but certainly not as easy as just folding it down.
Nothing on it
1 canoe, 3 bikes (bike holder is DIY. I used 2x4's, bolted fork blocks to them in a staggered pattern, then use U bolts to hold down the 2x4's to the rack. It's a tight fit to get 7 bikes, but works well.)

Loving my Garvin Wilderness Rack here...it can roll back so I can pull the hard top off and put the soft top on.

Is this the model which requires no drilling? Does it use existing bolts?
Thanks in advance.
