After wheeling, carpet is wet

I was stuck in water for about one minute (at the time engine is running) before I was pulled out by a friend.

Now my JK's carpet is wet on driver's side. I used a fan to blow it for a whole
night, only slight ly better. What else can I do to make it dry again?

Take it out so it can completely dry out:thumbsup::beer:

^^ yep pull it out so it doesn't smell like mold in a month.

Trash it! Carpet sucks!!! I bedlined mine after running the bikini top and the carpet got wet and it was cold and would not dry, I just ripped it all out and now it's at the dump!

check your floor plugs...:yup:

yeap i agree, trash the carpet, probably one of the most benificial mods i have done haha. if you dont wanna ditch it though, just lift up under the front floorboard and pull the drain plugs. there is two there, one under each seat, one in back floorboard, couple more but i dont even know if u can get to the ones under the seat or in the back withough completely pulling it out. but at least pull one up front so there is somehwere for water to escape.
but no carpet and seat covers and it drains and drys in no time, keep rear windows off all the time. i put some weather stripping around the rear storage tub to keep water out of there. I cant believe the rear subwoofer still works haha.

Get rid of the carpets!!

There is white pad under the drivers carpet that absorbs water...Im sure thats still soaked.

ditto on floor plugs

sometimes the floor plugs can be pushed in - probably caused your leak?

AZchris 01-26-2010 01:01 PM

I'd guess floor plugs as well.

I kept mine out after it got rained in and my carpet got we last week after crossing a stream that was deeper than I anticipated. :yup:

Trash the carpet and bedline or powdercoat the interior. Then you don't have to worry about the interior getting wet and you can just hose it out with the plugs pulled to clean it. Much easier than dealing with the soggy carpet.
