All But Officially Announced
Overwhelmingly we're seeing reports that Great Wall has just acquired the Jeep brand name. So what does this mean for the true die hard jeep fans?. In our Opinion, this would mean the death of the jeep brand as we know it. But hell most of the jeep components have been or are being made in china anyway.
Checking a few auto news sites, we've concluded that jeep would be sold sometime within 2018 -2019 model year. This means several North Amerasian plants would remain open but assume the great wall name plate. However, IF by chance our newly President elect imposes new trade restrictions on china, it would become increasingly more difficult to imported any jeep brand product into the US. So let's weight the facts, If it come down to it. Would you buy a revised version of the Jeep Wrangler as it would be now labeled a full out Chinese product? In other words, it might end up looking like this: http://www.canyon-news.com/wp-conten...le-dot-com.jpg or this: https://www.carscoops.com/wp-content...r-China-25.jpg |
This was all in the rumour mill last year but Marcone flatly denied it was happening. Why would any automaker sell their most profitable brand?

Hrm... How about posting up these auto news sites you're referencing?
