Battle Stripes or Scratches? Wax on Wax off?

Last week we took the rubi on its first creek ride through the mud earning scratches along the way all of which in my opinion shows it's a Jeep 4D and not a SUV. However, it is still new (IMO - https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-talk-26/still-new-when-do-you-consider-no-longer-new-80917/) so I was thinking we should take our lead from the Karate Kid and wax on wax off to remove some of the more superficial scratches.

Question is this, are the scratches true battle scars to be worn proudly by my Jeep and valued as souvenirs from a great day or are they hideous blemishes aging it beyond its short existence?

Battle scars. Jeeps don't age they just get more beauty marks.

I dont mind scrapes and scratches, but I also like to keep a coat of wax under the dirt. I want my Jeep to look good for as long as possible when I get around to washing it. Also, if you scratch the paint down to the metal, its a good idea to put some touch up paint on so you are not inviting rust.

The deep ones won't wax out.

Wear them proudly...

...I think of them as battle scars :brows:

You aren't the first one to tell me that. :D
It has a couple good scrapes and some rock rash from Cadillac hill, nothing major though.

I changed out my rockrings which made it look a bit more unblemished
I keep it spiffy too :brows:

Now you will need to get a new one for mall crawling and keep this one for the mud rides.

I try to keep scratches off mine, but I'm proud of every one of them. I'll apply touch up paint when it needs it to keep it from rusting. I use grey touch up paint for my green jeep, it hides it until you're about 5 foot away. But I think it's turning grey more and more every weekend.

David at Northridge was giving away cockrings, oh sorry, you said rockrings, same thing maybe? They are supposed to keep things hard and useable and free from deflation.

A couple times a year I take the polish to her and buff out the scratches, just to keep her in as good a condition for as long as possible (I'm never selling this Jeep).

That looks amazing, I plan on doing something simular. Except exchanging the numbers for the number on my old willy's.

I also wax it... twice a year. In the spring and the fall. I don't mind the scrapes and scratches but I want to keep it looking as best I can for as long as I can.
