Cannot remove hardtop

The last two torx screws are jammed. Like hyper jammed. And I don't wanna strip the head. Any pointers? Much appreciated.

WD-40 maybe...?

ZY714 05-09-2012 06:43 PM

Tried. And literally not budging a bit. It's never been this difficult.

Tried getting at it from the bottom? Maybe putting some counter torque on what the bold screws in to will help. I would recommend channel locks because of the shape.

are u using a ratchet or a srcewdriver?

once you get them off,,look into these,,i bought them and no leaks or problems what so ever.

i dont believe you can get at the bottom of this,i think its in the body. i might be mistaken though.

Yeah. It's definitely sealed off from the bottom. But the ratchet isn't giving me leeway either. I'm still working at it between checking the thread.

Greep 05-09-2012 06:55 PM

Did you put it on too tight? How did it get stuck?

Bowles77 05-09-2012 06:56 PM

Did you try putting the others back in and tightening and then try to remove these last 2 frist?

On my 08 the bolts screw into some rectangular shaped nuts that slide in and out of slots in the body, There is not a lot of room to get into where they slide in and out of but enough you might be able to but a little torque on them.
