carpet mod???

I can't tell you how many times I've seen people post about tearing out their carpet on cheap/free mod threads. What's the deal? It can't weigh more than a few pounds. And I'd imagine it helps baffle the noise and heat coming from under the Jeep. Why is this a must-do?

I personally can think of 3 reasons why i did it...

1. My huskies have white hair and shed like assholes and it sewed its way into the carpet.

2. I live in Wisconsin in the time and in the summer mother nature pissed in my car and it smelt like ass to make it worse In the winter I had to scrub salt out..

3. Its about 43x more bad ass to remove the carpet, bedline it, then watch your neighbors as you pressure wash inside your car.

But thats just me.

Those are actually pretty good reasons.

Why have carpet in something that has drain holes to let the water out if such should happen. The carpets are a spongey mess of mild and mildew and will make your jeep stink over time.

for alot of offroaders its more convenient to have a bedlinered floor then carpet. the bedliner is tough, non porous, and easily cleaned, then you pull the drain plugs and walla, shes dry again. carpet doesnt like getting muddy and wet all the time, bedliner doesnt give a shit.
