Commuting/daily driver

I was looking for some input on people that commute to work everyday and drive a 2 door Jeep. I have a round trip of approximately 65 miles and was wondering if anyone has ever regretted having one as a daily driver. Anything from mileage to ride quality ever an issue, I would like to put a lift and tires/rims on one and was wondering what if any problems anyone has had.

I deliver for UPS in town and out in the country. I am in my Jeep foor 4-6 hours a day and avg 500km a week. I went from a 97 4runner to a 2 door wrangler x. Not for one second did I regret it. I think the ride is great, milage is ok. But the fun factor is the biggest thing. On the highway I get 21-24 mpg, less in town. Go for it.

My baby boy is my daily driver. Sure he uses a LOT more gas than the Mazda3 I had before but the pleasure of driving, the waves from other Jeepers et al are so worth it. At the end of a long shift, walking into the parking lot and just seeing my big yellow Rubi waiting for me is an instant stress-reliever. :2thumbs:

US Gallon = 3.7854118 Liters
Imperial Gallon = 4.54609118 Liters

Is this the difference in MPG I'm seeing?

I agree with toad, its a Jeep so mileage wasn't great to begin with and I drive around with a grin on my face :D. I love my JK. Although, I would love to regear, I can deal with it.

I make that round trip twice a day and love it. I don't have a 2 door but it is the only vehicle I have ever owned that turned a boring drive into fun. I mean what other vehicle can you sit in traffic in and have to fight the urge to go around stuff through the ditch or crawl over other cars yet have the top down in?
BTW over a year old an 32000+ miles no regrets or problems other than the (now fixed) stall bug.

This is mine.

I dont do 65 roundtrip anymore, (was doing about 60 in my old pickup, which got worse milage, so this is a step up in the gas department) now i drive less than ten since I moved.

No regrets, id do it all over again. :yup::thumbs::yup::D

Thanks for all the replies. I guess my next question is…Can you tell me the difference in purchasing an X compared to a Sahara? I have looked at the different options on how they are equipped but I noticed almost everyone on here driving a Rubicon or X. Rubicon is out of my price range but I like some of the creature comforts that come with the Sahara.

Sorry for mixing this with the original post I just want to have everything in place before going to the dealer. I know the salesperson will tell me whatever I want to hear.

Basically a Sahara has most of the creature comforts standard that are optional on the X. Like the Infinity stereo, fog lights for example. The ride may be softer on the X than the Sahara due to the smaller wheel size on the X. Differerence in the shocks maybe too. But that is speculated since an X has different packages. I ordered my X as a half a Rubixcubecon. Cost like a Sahara but has a locker and disco.
