Worse mileage after mods
After I got my 2.5 inch lift and 35 inch tires, I noticed by gas mileage went from an average of 16 to 13 or so. Is this normal? If it is, what is the reason for the worsened mileage? Thanks.

Larger tires take more power to turn.
Larger tires will show fewer miles driven if you have not programmed the new size into the JK's computer.
Larger tires will make you drive faster to show the same mph if you have not programmed the new size into the JK's computer. (More wind drag)
Being lifted will increase turbulence under the JK.

FWIW even if you reprogram the ECU for the right tire size, you'll still have worse gas mileage.
The bigger tires weigh a lot more which requires more power to turn.
Also since they are bigger the axle ratio is non-optimal causing you to likely have to use more throttle to accelerate or maintain speed which likely causes your transmission to use lower gears.
And even if all of this was "fixed" you still have affected wind resistance and rolling resistance substantially.
