Default Decent deal?

It’s that time of year for dealerships to get the new models so I went and checked them out, and checked out last years 11’s that they might be trying to get rid of. So let me know what you think of these prices.

The “x” unlimited I have with all the stuff below, they would give me 22,000 for, and 21,000 if I decided to keep all the goodies off of it, minus the snorkel. (I have almost 78,000 on it)
They have a 2011 call of duty rubicon (don’t really care about C.O.D.) but want the rubicon, that they said 34,500.
Also, they are starting to get the 2012s in, and can get them at “chrylser affiliate pricing” whatever that is. The “x” they have is 26,900, no power anything, but obviously the engine is great. 3.73s in it. Not really interested in it, but might make me wait to get a rubicon with the new engine.
I guess my question is am I crazy for wanting to get 24,000 for my jeep, and to get a 2011 rubicon for 33,000 ? I think I would take that deal. The other option is wait and get a 2012 rubi, but probably pay a lot more for it. The other option is just be happy with my 2008, and change the 3.21 gears/add lockers.

Is your 08 paid off? If you are happy with what you have, I say keep it and do the upgrades you want. Cost less money that way.

I'd keep it and just upgrade it. Make it better than that 2012 Rubi!!!

Sounds like your not too far apart on price. If you really want the 2011, make them that offer and see what they have to say. It might take a few weeks but the 2011's will drop more when the 2012's really start rolling in.

Yes, you are crazy for wanting 24k for your 80k mile Jeep. Look at the Jeep Recycler area to see what other people are looking to offload at that price.

However their '11 prices seem a bit high, doesn't look like they are in a hurry to offload them.

So maybe I should say would I be crazy for not taking 24K trade for my jeep and 33K for a 11' rubi?

Yes. If I could get that kind of a deal I'd jump right on it.

If they're willing to give you 24k for your jeep that is a great deal, however you could get an '11 for 30k right now if you haggle. That being said, maybe they are offering you more on your trade in so that they don't have to drop the price of the '11? Don't forget you're also going to be able to get $1000 cash back and 0% financing for 60 months on 2011 models... Personally though I'd get a '12. Use the TL discount and haggle for the 2% instead of 1% and you'll get a fully loaded automatic 2012 rubicon for 35k.

I wouldn't for a current jk owner. If he owes 4k, and will have to finance the 11k difference, that means he'll be financing 15k. I'd change out gears for $2000, and basically have a whole new love affair with a now-different JK, and keep the remaining 13k. Wait for the next body style change!
