You genuinely believe a four [model] year old Jeep Wrangler X with 46,000 miles is worth $20k or $22k? [The Rubicon Unlimited is worth ~$28k to the dealer] A 2012 model similarly equipped to his X can be had for $27k. Do you understand what depreciation is and how it works? The moment his X was driven off the lot, before the ink could dry, it was worth $23k.

I'm in the same boat- what to bring my 07 2 dr X back as stock as I can and trade for an 07 4 dr sahara. Figure with my Jk I can get about 14400 and 8100 for the WJ GC. They want 27k (near a new '11 JKU X, right?!) but will probably take mid-low 20's. Wife, baby, dogs + extra insurance and maintenance.

What does Nada say about your trade and prospective JKU? That's what my dealer buddy says they use up here in AK at least. Don't be afraid to walk away. They're counting on you to want it THAT BAD.

NO dont do it...i went and got 2 dealers estimate for my 07 sahara unlimited w/56k and they offer me 23.5...the 09 rubicon i was looking at had 34k on it and they was asking for 27, i talked them down to 24.5....pretty much i just said i would rather spend a extra 3 k and get a brand spanking new 10 rubicon for about 30k out the door if they wouldnt break a deal for me...its up to them if they want that old rubi to be sitting on the lot, if they do then just walk away....

the deal might be going through tonight after work...but ill let everyone know.

Default Trade-ins

Ok, for all you guy's trading in your Jeeps. How close are the dealers getting to the KBB trade-in price.
It is safe to say that Kelly Blue Book is a good tool to use to gauge what the dealer will give you or will they try and low-ball us.

Good Luck everyone in your trades.
