Hey guys. Finally found a 1992 canadian m101 trailer in my area that's for sale. It's posted for $1200. Hoping I can get it for 900-1000 but the guy seems pretty firm. I would cut out a tailgate, add a RTT and hopefully change the hubs to get matching tires and rims. It would be a fun build.

Here's a shot of some photos the guy had on the listing

As another option I can buy the dinoot kit that's coming out later this summer. They're offering an m-series trailer now so it's basically a replica of the m416 or m101...nice thing about this is it would be brand new but I would have to build it and pay the cost of delivery and I'm all the way In Canada...anyway, here's a photo of their prototype

Nice I am also doing the same the M-416 is the way to go I have done a ton of research on converting it my plan is simular to what AT Trailers offers with a few more custom mods and do-dads to mine. The nice thing about the M-416 is the part are pretty intercangeable with old willys model style jeeps but if you would like so more info PM me ill be happy to share it. Also $1200 is a little High on the price scale needs to be in perfect shape. I paid $500 for mine but it is a little rough in spots.

Awesome trailer! Would love to hear more about what your plans are.

The trailer I posted is actually a Canadian m101 though so they were made 1992, much newer than the m416 but very similar. Built in usa for cdn forces

My plan is to rip out the whole suspension and replace it with all new leaf springs, shocks, and shackles and do a spring over axle to give me about 2.5-3 inches of extra lift to run a 31 tire with a little wheel travel . I am also planing to keep the tube solid and replace the drain plugs and create an aluminum lid to keep the weight down and make it more manageable . On top off the lid I am going to mount either a Yakima or Thule rack on it to mount a tent or kayaks/canoe.

Do you plan on doing a write up at all? Would love to know specs and details. I plan on doing a much of the same. Definitely doing a RTT though. Thinking about cutting a tailgate too

Yes I purchased the m101 and I'm extremely happy with it and the way it sits behind my jeep. I'm gonna focus on practical mods before tricking it out to look like my jeep (ex. A lid and roof top tent)

I kept the original lights. I know a lot of people changed it because or the 24volt difference but I needed to find a way around that because 1) the wiring loom that covers the original wiring is absolutely amazing and there's no way I wanted to sacrifice that strength. And the lights themselves are pretty waterproof and look like they could take a better beating than any lighting kit I could buy. So what I did was I swapped out the light bulbs for 12volt bulbs and I cut off the giant 24volt connection up front. Then I just added the 4 prong wiring connection and taped it all up nicely. Works like a charm . The biggest pain was trying to figure out which wires did what but I've got everything working perfectly and I'm glad I went that route
