Default Diesel JK's in the future?

Hello all,

I have been watching the JK for a while now. I was ready to purchase but then I decided to wait for a diesel version. Has there been any talk about Chrystler releasing a diesel JK over the next couple of years? Is there any second hand shops converting JK's to diesel and actually selling them now or in the near future?

There is a lot of talk and speculation, do a search and you'll find several threads on it. As for the conversion, not sure there is anyone doing it commercially yet, most seem to be focused on the Hemi swaps, but I'll bet you could have it done if you're willing to spend the $$$.

Strange, here in Europe we have can choose between a 3.6 l benzine and a 2.8 crd diesel. And that 's what i ordered 2 months ago : a black unlimited sahara 2.8 crd. So Jeep is making them for us europeans and they make them in the states , the only thing that bothers me is the time of delivery , somewhere between april and june 2008 , so it is waiting for another 130 days or more. But i think it's worth it .
Greets from Belgium and to all of you a very happy new year.

The Chrysler diesel does not meet US emission standards yet.
