2016 Jeep Wrangler To Get Diesel Engine | Edmunds.com

well it looks like you may get a choice - Diesel may come earlier than the refresh to close out the old shape and keep sales up......

"The engine will be introduced toward the end of the model's lifecycle to boost sales before they bring in the redesigned model," according to an industry source who asked not to be identified.

Apparently a Chrysler plant an hour or so north of me is in the process of hiring 1200 new employees. Chrysler said they are going to be making 8-9 speed trannies there. Not sure what to think but thought I'd throw that out there.

Just read an article that jeep will be made in china. I don't like that much.

traxx2003 03-02-2013 05:23 AM

I saw that article, and what Jeep is planning is to build in China the vehicle they are going to sell there. According to the article is part of a joint venture they have with some automaker in China. The article does not contain any information about Jeep stoping or moving their operation overseas, like GM did.

I sure hope not. I could only think it is for the European market. And an attempt to strengthen their brand over there.

That is precisly what their intentions are. Im with you, if Jeep were to stop building the Wrangler in the US, that will be reason enough for me to not get one.
