solid axle + front sway bar disco'ed = great traction, good stability, crawl over obsticles and a smoother off-road ride! Even on Forest Service roads I will disco!

You would want to have sway bar disconnects regardless of not having a locker IMO. It makes a big difference in your ability to flex and gain traction over bumpy trails.

This is very true. I was just trying to show how much additional traction a person without lockers can gain for very little money & effort. But you are absolutely right Sir!!

Can someone please spell this out for a non-technical guy? Because you're getting me worried.

Is that driveshaft damaged now or just the rubber boot?
I read on this forum that a different driveshaft is only necessary if you have more than 2.5 inches of lift, is that correct?

I assume this is also only true for 'bigger' lifts?

Once the boot is torn it is close to time to replace the entire shaft with a skinnier one. An OEM replacement will just tear again.

You know, I never disco'ed for fire roads, I'm going to take your advise & give her a try. Thanks for the input.

I do know that I won't be running around town disco'd. Been there done that. It's like you're driving around on marshmellows lol.

Thanks for all the input guys. I'm learning more & more each day!!! Great Forum, Great People!!

The ride is much smoother with the front loose. If you have an auto just trim that lip off with a cutoff tool and the stock driveshaft will work ok. Just trim before you do the disco.

After a very tough trail ride, I decided to get Sway bar disconnects. I haven't had a chance to try them yet, so this is good to hear.

Do you have to secure the swaybar once you unhook it or just let it hang?

What about extended sway bar links? I installed the TF 1.5" coil leveling kit with 1/2" spacer up front. The kit also came with extended sway bar links. I also installed Old Man Emu long travel shocks for 2" lifts. So my question is, would I benefit from disconnecting my sway bar links when wheelin, if so for what type of wheelin should I disconnect for?

Disco for wheeling for best traction and ride. The arms should be used to hold the sway bar up out of the way. Mine came with brackets for holding them up when not on the axle.

Most disconnects have a means to tie up the links included. But anything from boot laces to zip ties to bungee cords will work for this application. Just go get some!!!! If you trail ride at all or want to conquer some sweet lines, it is mandatory equipment

I just had my lift installed... 3.5" Clayton with JKS quick disconnects. I know the kit came with extended brake lines. Not sure about the ABS/ESP lines.
