I would say from me .. my JK has been a daily the last few months no offroading at all since the drowning.

I took my 35s off and put on my stock 31s. It got about 10 mpg better .. and I saved the wear on my tires. Now before, I was hweeling every weekend, and did little driving during the week... now if your putting miles on your JK i would say 33s and change em when you go wheeling. They'll last longer, you save on gas, but you'll get tired of chaning em quick.

Its mostly your personal prefernce really when it comes down to it.

33's will suffice. but I am in a similar situation. I am going 35's because they are not that much more in price from my supplier. my unlimited is my DD. I have 3" Black Diamond lift with Pro Comp ES9000's.

Are you going to regear?

Its a Jeep screw gas mileage, run 35's you will be happier. Mine is my daily driver and I run 35's. JKgirl08 10MPG better with 31's, DAMN that means you are getting around 25-27mpg

For me, 35's means that I'd have to regear, and if I'm already there I'll add lockers. Since you have an 08 X, I'd guess that you probably also have the 3.73's and would want to regear to do 35's. So... the real question is, do you want the 35's enough to spend an extra $1200 +/- on gears? (+ the difference in the cost of tires)

What kind of mileage are you getting now with your 35's? I am getting 17 city (225/75/R16) and 22mpg highway.

I got a steal my wheel and tire combo is gonna cost less then 750 bucks, and I am still shopping for gearing shops.

Not at this moment.

The main reason I am asking is because I am buying a lift to put away until I can afford new wheels and tires.

If I go with 33's I think a 2.5" coil lift will be ok. If I go with 35's I might opt for the 3".

The problem with the 3" is I might have to add trackbars, driveshafts etc plus regear for the 35's. That will end up being a lot of cash that I can spend on other mods.

The Unlimited just looks so damn good with 35's.

I am getting about 15 city and 18 highway. 35's w/ 4.10 and about 300lbs of bumpers and winch.
