Default It finally happened!

Greetings from Ontario, Canada everyone! After a month of waiting, my factory ordered Sahara Unlimited arrived. I had originally wanted to get the Rubicon, but finances swayed me to the Sahara for my first Jeep. I had a fantastic 2 hour drive home to start breaking it in. I've already started with some simple mods. I installed some Weathertech floor liners, Mopar door sill protectors, Mopar spare cover, removed silver bumper trim and installed a Kuda electronics base. I'm looking forward to continued involvement with the JK community! My girl (who has the exact same Jeep) and I will likely be quite active here. Thanks for making this purchase happen guys!

Great pictures! I should be getting my Kuda mount in the next few days. I have a few questions...

1) How easy was it to install? I am worried about scratching my dashboard (or cracking ANY plastic) and would appreciate any "lessons learned."
2) I bought a ram mount to attach to it. What is the base made out of? Will screws hold it down sufficiently?

1) It's easy enough to install. The one I got I felt the fit was a little bit off, but within acceptable margins. All you have to do it pull out the dash as outlined here in the forums. Push the mount up and screw it in. Theres a metal retainer tab the slides in between the centre console and the passenger side dash. Be gentle and mindful of it. I scratched the hell out of my plastic! It's covered by the mount so I can't see it, but if you're more careful than me you can avoid it.

2) I like the Ram mount. I actually used velcro for the time being. The base is made out of some fiberglass type material wrapped in leather. It's very strong and quite rigid. You can drill through it no problems. It's easy to do since the mount is hollow. I have a different ram mount that I'll post pictures of later... i drilled into it no issues. It's almost like drilling into a piece of wood.

Hope this helps.

Thats the mount base we're talking about in this thread. It's an after market add on.
