Default Foam Kayak Carriers/Blocks on Freedom Top

Has anyone tried these foam Kayak blocks on a Freedom Top? They just sit on top. I also thought to get a hitch extender(designed more for a truck) for the back and use the foam kayak blocks for the front. We have a couple of kayaks, each weighing 45 lbs each. Any thoughts from you kayakers?

I used foam blocks front and rear on my hardtop 4dr to drive from Dallas, TX to Panama City, FL with an 18foot tandem touring kayak on top. No problems at all.

Default canoe

I use these with my 16 ft Canoe. No problems at all. The freedom top cant even tell its up there, and thats after I've got it strapped down overly tight.

Cajone's!!!

I had 2 tarpon 160i's on my Yuke with the Yak rack and all the tie downs, into a big headwind, and then the obligatory 18 wheeler blast at 80 mph,...

Crapped my shorts a few times.

I don't know if I would feel so good about doing the foam block thing.

But I need to do something with the Jeep bc I am missing my kayak fishing immensely.

BTW the Tarpon 160i is a great fishing platform. Salt and fresh water, it is great.

Well haven't used the blocks...But think it would work with your Freedom top. If I had the freedom Top that is what I would have done but.....I have the Q-towers on my spare car the Mercury Cougar and for the Jeep (soft top) I use a trailer or just take the top off and strap'em down.....

We have an old trailer(with sides) - I'm thinking about just using that.

Foam might work but I really want a rack of some type. I haven't seen someone put a rack directly on a hardtop 2door model. I have a trailer that works and I do take the hardtop off but I think a nice cargo rack would work better.
