Default Free- Standing Hard Top Hoist Systems?

Anyone seen a free-standing hard top hoist system?
(my garage is a warehouse with 22' clear ceilings....)

It's sad to see that it has been three years and NObody has responded to your question. Anywho I now have the same type of question.

I haven't seen one for sale... so you would have to fab one yourself. Sorry it took three years to reply, but searching Google can be your friend.

Someone on here made one from an engine hoist. A bit overkill I'm sure, but gets the job done.

That's exactly what I did. It works perfect. It allows me to slowly lift off the hard top and slowly put it back on without losing control of it.

If I didn't already have the engine hoist, I wouldn't have purchased one just for this purpose. However, since I did have it and I don't use it very often for lifting out engines, it made a perfect sense.

Oscar, great idea and this will solve my problem. I don't have a garage and using an engine hoist will be the solution. I am buying an engine hoist with the maximum height of 79". I noticed you added an extension. Is that something you purchased? If so, where can i buy the same or similar extension? Also, can you give me more details/pictures of how you secure the hardtop from the top of the hardtop? Thanks!

The orange section you see is actually the lower half of an engine stand I had laying around. It's nothing more than a piece of 2" square tubing with a 1/8" wall thickness. I'll pull out the tape measure later and get some measurements on the rest of it.

Here are a few more detailed pics of the extension piece on the end of the engine crane.

Sorry if that got a little pic heavy.

Here's my home built lift and it works well. Back the jeep under it or roll it around the jeep, attach the ropes and hoist it... Roll it out lower the top onto the resting spots and leave until I need to reinstall it
