10/4 bro, but my mother-in-law will never get her ass in my jeep........she's too short!

anywhooo, a mother-in-law ejection seat sounds pretty useful.

I was wondering this same thing today! I drove 50 miles at speeds up to 80 mph at times and there were no issues without the screws (left them out due to laziness.) Originally I had those things screwed in as tight as I could! Idk why I did that. Later, I reinserted them as we are supposed to have bad storms. I screwed them in till snug and figured they may help the top seal better?

I (used to) take them out for summer, and put them back for winter. Now I just take off the whole top for summer and put it back on for winter. Easier that way. I never had any problem without the screws, from 85mph to washboard roads to car washes. And to be honest, if the front metal latch and the metal swing latches fail - I would prefer the top section just fly away instead of whipping back at 75mph, crushing the lip of the rear section beyond repair, and THEN flying away.

Depends on what your climate is. Ireland, I imagine, is humid and pretty stable in temperature with the ocean currents coming in on Europe as a whole. Colorado, you might want to take them off every day - but just because you have a 90*F day doesn't mean you won't have a 25*F night. In fact, if you are up in the mountains, that is a norm for well much of the year. I have seen 85*F and snow in the last week here. In winter you might, and usually do, get a week of 60*F days that drop below zero at night. That is a lot of on and off - and in that case, the screws become a pain in the ass. Just becomes and issue of if you want to take the top panels off - the screws become a barrier. It does take just a minute, but when you are doing it twice a day - it gets old fast.
