Default Fuel gushing back out!

The last few times I've filled the gas tank, after the nozzle clicks off fuel comes gushing back out. Not sure why it started doing this. And it's been at more than one station so I don't think it's the pumps. Anybody else have this problem?

You have a 2008 don't you??

.... Ask me how I know. Lol. Take it to the dealer, there was a recall. Or if you're like me and have a good ear, listen for the change of pitch, when you hear it, shut it off and it'll be perfect level.

I was in the same boat as you. Had it happen twice, took it to the dealer and told them it was happening every time (which was technically true for the previous 2 fills). They determined it wasn't just the sensor and they replaced the entire gas tank, sensor and filler tube. Only issue was that they didn't have it in stock and I had to wait a few days to get the part in.

Just make sure you wash the gasoline off the body and bumper so it doesn't ruin the finish (if there is any left). Good luck.

It wasn't a recall. It is a letter from Chrysler that they will repair it. Lifetime, IIRC. Mine (2007) did it a couple times, but before getting it to dealer it stopped. Hasn't done in six months or so. Go figure.

Close, I have a 2009. But thanks for the info everybody. I've had the JKU for a few months now and it just started doing it the last 3-4 fill ups. I'll be calling the dealer about this then.

Used to happen all the time on my 08, on my 14' they must have fixed the problem

I did get that letter (after I sold the 08) that the dealer would fix it.

Same with my 2008 JKUR. Dealer replaced the whole tank, free of charge!

This happens to me on my 11 at least once a month. But there's no TSB for it so I just slow the gas flow when close to being full. I just watch how many gallons
