FUN TOPIC! Your dream jeep....

So, you just won the lottery and you have the funds to buy any jeep you want, and rig it any way you want. How would you do it? This should be fun. :)

o yay another one of these threads, maybe we can get as many of these as hey what lift threads.

tarpon4me 07-24-2014 11:59 AM

I totally looked before I posted it. Nothing in the first 3-4 pages of threads. And besides, it's better than one of those threads where people whine and bitch nonstop about about politics, queers, or something along those lines. :celebrate:

Having a jeep with everything on it I want would leave me with nothing to do. So the quest for the elusive "great white buffalo" lives on. Besides, there are too many self destructive habits that I will never have to worry about because of my jeep lusts: hookers, gambling, crack, strange internet porn to name a few. Jeep on my friends...

Mountain Man Tim 07-24-2014 09:39 PM

my 14 jkur, but if i had unlimited funds, ild get a hellcat 6.2 hemi for it, with the 8 speed auto, and lift it and put on my 60 inch moster truck tires  ild also likely have to add a couple more full sized fuel cells and a regear (all the practicle stuff to make this setup work, as a daily driver ) would also need a drop down ladder system to get in the damn thing :rotflmao2:

This is what I'd do, for sure.

He sold that Jeep on Pirate 4x4. I wish I had the money to buy it then.

I already have that Jeep. I'd spend the money on more great Jeep adventures ...

I know man. That has become my inspiration. My very, very, very expensive inspiration.

Gforce! 07-25-2014 07:37 AM

I'd go for 35s on bead locks, auxiliary fuel tank and a 4bt on built d44s.

Other than that, I want to build my own bumpers and light bar (I'm currently working on this) so I'd buy tools and steel. Lots of steel. And a really nice stick welder. And a garage to do my work in.

I like working on my jeep too much to just buy parts that I can build myself. No offense to the vendors, they make some great stuff, I just want the experience and complete personalization that comes with doing it myself.

Maertz 07-25-2014 07:37 AM

C4lo is working on a 4 door build now aswell that im sure will be just as sweet.

Is there a build thread anywhere?

I'm sure it will, but nothing beats a stretched 2 door in my eyes.

I'm with Jaker,,, My jeep is rapidly approaching my "DREAM JEEP" status. An Atlas transfer case, 40's, and Rock Hard cage is all I really want. Later down the road,, if money was not an issue,,, LS.

For the win! [emoji60]

If I had the cash to do what I wanted... my jeep would have a budget boost and 35s. Over built jeeps make little sense, buy a buggy

tarpon4me 07-29-2014 04:18 AM

Rock Bouncer?

RedRockJeeper 07-29-2014 04:34 AM

Oh that's easy.

Jku with:

1) Pro Rock 60 front, 2) Pro Rock 80 rear, 3) ARB's f&R, 4) Cummins 4BT, 5) NV4500, 6) Atlas 4 TC, 7) Rubicon Express 4 link long arm with Metal Cloak ends, 8) EVO double throwdown with rear lever system, 9) 20" ATX Slabs with 40's or 42's(Pitbull Rockers), 10) Metal Cloak front and rear bumpers with winch and tire carrier, 11) Metal Cloak overline fenders,...etc. etc.

Not meant to cause offense, but when does this become "not a Jeep"? Seems to me you'd be better to build from scratch and just call it your own design.

I think it becomes "not a jeep" when the body and/or frame are mostly gone. :what?: If you think about it, even though his list is pretty "extreme"..the minute we start modding, we are doing the same thing to a lesser extent.

Of course, which is why I posed the question. Well, and also because I have to wonder if financially it isn't just smarter to build from scratch.

Rob 12B1P 07-29-2014 08:04 AM

Id probably switch out my steel bumpers and tire carrier for aluminum. Might try the aluminum under armor but I honestly dont know if the weight savings would be worth the sticking/galling. Set of TR wheels. Have a custom cage built to replace the stock crap. I need gears so I would get that done.

More sense financially? Probably, but if you want a Jeep you start with a Jeep. If you want a buggy, you start with tubing. Just my take on it.

Okay. Thanks.

smbundy13 07-29-2014 10:38 AM

I would build a CJ8 scrambler from the ground up with a new TDK frame with TJ suspension mount points and new tub, etc.

5.3 LS with a NV4500... etc.

I'd have to agree. Hell there are builds on here that seem as though they'd have been better off building a buggy from the start. But I suppose if you have the funds then have at it.

Da10A 07-31-2014 06:01 PM

I already have that jeep in the form of my 10A, maybe add a 3 inch aev lift, 35s, rugged ridge wheels 4.56 gears, teraflex spare tire carrier, or the aev one, a back-up camera with a lock pick to take care of a few annoyances.... Done!!! As if... I am not impressed with overbuilt jeeps either. Maybe when I was 17 or in my early 20s perhaps, but definitely not anymore...
