Sacramento, CA, just paid $2.55.9/10ths. subtract the $0.18 for FT and I believe $0.70 for PR California's tax and it would be under $2. Can anyone explain to me why state tax is 3.5 times the amount of the Federal tax??? The answer is CalTrans. gotta pay for all of those new trucks collecting dust in their parking lots.
Not mention the 5 guys standing around watching 1 guy shovel dirt.

I'm the same way. I don't often pay much attention to price. Years ago, I would bust my ass to fill up at this gas station on Tuesday and Thursday as gas was $.06 less per gallon. At the time, driving about 25k miles a year, the yearly savings was negligible. Since then, gas is gas. We drive as we need to. The prices haven't influenced our activities, road trips, etc.

What I can't figure out is why is diesel so expensive still?! I thought it was less refined than gasoline and cheaper to produce. And I just bought a diesel as a second car a few months ago, crap!
