We want both and full (when we don’t have the top down) and half (when we want to put the top down) doors. Since it’s not a standard option from Chrysler (who knows why ), we ordered our Jeep with full doors and the power group (the power group isn’t an option with half doors) and will get aftermarket half doors. There are a number of simple half doors out now, but we like the look of the Bestop doors with the steel exterior panel and slider window for the upper.

Bestop has them, but won't be on sale until 2008. No specific date was given other than after the first of the year. They are coming, just a matter of when...

How do you suppose they would ship a Jeep with 2 sets of doors and expect no damage during transit?

Two half doors, and two uppers would be a tough fit in a 2 door and unsecured would bang around.

Same in a 4 door.

If they did offer both from the factory, then everyone would complain about the lousy shipping practices of just tossing the extra doors into the Jeep for delivery.

I would keep the full size doors on the Jeep and box the half doors - in a shipping box with appropriate packing material - and put them behind the front seat. If they didn’t want to keep them with the Jeep they could ship them separately to the Dealer.

They managed to get the soft top and hard top shipped together. I’m sure they have smart enough Engineers to figure out how to ship the extra half doors without damaging them.

The upper half of the door is better made than it was on my '95 YJ.
They're really easy to take off and on.
Is the soft-top for the half door JK the same as the soft-top for the full door JK?

Years ago, there were two soft tops, depending on if you had half or full doors.

I bought mine used from a dealership so I didnt know that the half doors were special order, TBH though there are many times when I wish I had full metal doors and a hardtop especially when its cold out and on the highway, but they certainly do have there redeeming qualities. In fact I have yet to see another half door 2 door Jeep Green Sahara anywhere... If mine was the only one out there though that would be pretty cool here is mine as it looks now

The heater in jks is way strong enough to make the cab comfy enough with Halfs and soft top.
