How do you determine a fair price on used tires?
I am at a loss. I am in the market for a new set of 35" tires but I would like to sell my 33" and have no idea of what they are worth. I have had one offer to buy but no talk of money yet. I know this is a wierd thread but does anyone have an idea of how to set the value of a set of used tires?

The price is what ever the market affords.
As usual it's going to depend on supply and demand. The supply of used stock JK tires is pretty high if you know where to look, where as the supply of quality used JK MTs is very low.
If your 33s are AT or MTs and are in good shape you can expect to get value proportional to the tread left on them minus the risk of buying a used tire.
Look on the For Sale section of this forum, or craislist or your penny saver for an idea of the "going rate" in your area.

Kewl guys. I don't think the demand is great in this area but ya never know. I was surprised when I mentioned I was lifting the JK a partner asked if I was selling my 33" MT's. Though I have between 5K and 6K miles on em and they are less than 6 months old I was thinking ~40% would be a deal.

A big thing that eats the profit is if you have to ship them.
You can make a pretty good amount back if you can sell local, but that takes time to wait for a buyer in your area. You'll always get more if you are patient.

Trade them in at the Tire shop when you are needing new tires....but I know your Driving on STT's and these tires seem to never wear out.
