I don't think resale value is necessarily lower, it would just take you much longer to find a buyer.
I would just rather get full doors and go aftermarket halfs. Soon they will be out..

Half doors all the way!!! Jeeps need to have the top down and the half door makes it really open. Just think about it , isnt a jeep with the top down and full doors on like driving a Hummer with a moon roof. Just kidding guys with full doors. I think the zipper windows suck at times but to me the Jeep just looks more like what its supposed to with the half doors.

my dealer tried to disuade me from getting half doors...
and even after I bought my jk, the sewrvice guy never called me back with a price for a set of 4.
How much do they cost anyway?

OK, so to answer my own question...
I drove down to the dealer today and the parts guy looked puzzled about the half door question and then "guessed" at EIGHT THOUSAND dollars.
(that's $2K per door!)
He said it's expensiove because of all the "bits" I'd have to buy. What bits, I asked and was shown an exploded view of the door, hinges, about a dozen various non-labelled stuff.... see? he said. That's why it's expensive, I can't just get you a door you can hang on to the frame.
Of course this is the same guy who says the "evolution of Jeep Wrangler" poster on the wall was one per dealer from Chrysler and no way I could order one. Got home and found it online for $12 in 12 seconds......

someone bought them piece by piece and it cost about 7000, jeep is supposed to be coming out with a kit though that will be cheaper, but no idea what price....Besttop has been slowly releasing their element doors that will have enclosure kits and also their soft half doors.....

I've yet to receive my JK.. still on the wharf in the U.S.A. apparently.. but I for one would have ordered half doors as an option straight off the bat... but not for $US 7000. That's just ridiculous. Around the $ 3-500 per door is more like it...and less if they aren't colour coded !

I have just put my half doors on my 2012 Rubicon but have left the hard top on for now. I get an incredible amount of wind coming in on my face even at speeds of 30mph or so. I need a way to stop this or I'll have to put the full doors back on. I don't see any wind deflectors for sale for use with half doors and wonder if the front hood bug deflector will help.
Really need some suggestions !! I can't be the only one with this problem
