Default I may be crazy

Im thinking about buying a lift/wheels/tires/sliders/diff covers

Id be leaving the sliders and diff covers on full time,

But since I can only go wheeling a few times each year installing the lift n wheels, go wheeling then when I return put the Jeep back to stock...

Am I crazy or is this something people do??

P.S.- my JK is my DD and I drive OVER 100 Miles daily

I am not sure you are crazy, but you will need to be committed.

After speeding time in Nassua county over the last few weeks and having to go between there and Newark a couple of times, I can understand why you might want to remain at the stock ride height and wheels.

But that is a fair amount of work to do everytime. Maybe you could leave the lift on and just switch out the tires.

I would add an airhorn and a bumper with a big stinger on it to help you get thru traffic

hmm... you might change it once, but i doubt it. As soon as you will go through all the pain and suffering installing the lift kit, you will realize that once you'll install it, it will stay on. haha.

yea your probably right... running the stock wheels and tires alone will probably be enough for a DD then just switch out the wheels for wheeling...

sounds good to me...

A Budget boost will not effect the ride and allow space for the bigger tires you switch on and off. plus plenty of people run just the BB with stock tires/wheels and it doesnt look bad at all. IMO

Yeah, I ran 32's with my Teraflex 2.5" BB for a long time and didn't think they looked so bad. Now I switched them out with 35's and didn't do any other modifications for clearance. So, technically, you could install a BB, leave it there for good and just switch between stock tires and bigger ones.... it's still a little crazy, but not as crazy as uninstalling/reinstalling a lift every time you want to go wheelin!

I'm running the TF 2.5 BB with my stock tires & wheels and it certainly helps keep the mileage decent. The lift alone did not have much impact on the mileage. Full suspension lifts though add a lot of weight, so they will certainly affect MPG's, but it seems to be the tires that do it more than anything else.
