Default Jeep wrangler rubi vs. Ford raptor!

Hey guys I am not trying to start a war, but my friend at school seems to think that a ford raptor is better than a jeep at anything, including rock crawling. I completely disagree but I need some cold hard facts that will obliterate his theory! Thanks guys!

The Ford Raptor is built to go at high speeds over rough terrain. It is quite good at that. But, that's not something that folks do everyday. In fact, it's rather like buying a Corvette. Where can you drive your Corvette at 175 MPH? Precious few places.

The Jeep, however, is built to drive over very extreme terrain, especially when modified by its owner (note that there aren't really many modification routes for the Raptor to do what the Jeep can do, as reflected in the aftermarket). It doesn't do it fast--certainly not as fast as a Raptor. But it does it in places one probably wouldn't take a Raptor. One can buy a Jeep and use it to its full potential. One can modify a Jeep to increase that potential, and continue to use it to that potential.

Bottom line: If one wants a vehicle that one cannot use to its full potential, but will allow them to go fast over dirt roads and they're okay with not being able to go over the really rough stuff, get a Raptor. If one is okay with going slower, taking time to smell the roses as it were, but won't accept being halted at the first hairy rock crawl, get the Jeep. They're both capable in their own way. One just lets you use it.

Does your friend own a Raptor? If, I'd say that takes away his credibility.

A raptor wouldn't have been able to take the switchbacks on a trail I ran last weekend because of its length so it wouldn't have made it period. Oh yeah, the switchback didn't even require 4wd at this section of the trail.

Size is another factor. Raptor is pretty wide. Lots of multipoint turns can help with length. Driving a JKU, I know this to be so. LOL.
