JK DD undecided

The JK makes a great DD, compared to a TJ. You can probably make the Unlimited JK just as (probably more) capable than your TJ and still have it maintain excellent road characteristics.

JK as DD saves on fuel costs!
I have a 2001 Chevy 2500HD with an 8.1L (GAS), fabtech lift, hog gets around 7-8MPG
I actually choose the JK as my DD because it's getting about 18MPG. I drive 40 miles roundtrip for work. The ride is great, and the seat is very very comfortable. Way more fun to drive than my 2500HD.
Someday, I'm hoping to sell the 2500HD and buy a Lexus IS-350. Still probably will drive JK as DD...ha ha!

My unlimited is my DD and I wouldn't have it any other way. By the way get ready to do a lot more driving. Whenever a group of us at work decide to go out for lunch, the first thing I hear is "Hey Dennis, can I catch a ride with you". I haven't heard "Hey Dennis, do you need a ride" since I got my jeep last year.
And my teenage daughter and her friends love it too. I picked up my daughter and her friends one night and had my top and doors off. All the way home one girl kept saying "this is so cool, this is so cool". After saying that about a dozen times one of the other girls yelled out "We know it's cool, now shut up!!"

I have had three other Jeeps,CJ,YJ,Tj. The JK is the best of the bunch, so much so that after I made the mistake of getting rid of my 2000 for an Infinity FX35 in Feb '07 I got rid of the FX. It is my DD and will not make the same mistake again. By the way I have 25,000 miles on it already and no problems at all.

thanks for all the replies As soon as I can sell the TJ i will be looking for a JK. I will probably go with an 07 since you cant get an 08 with 4.10 gears unless you get a Rubi. ( I just dont think I get the wife to agree on a Rubi). One question... Did some of the 07's come with a D-35 rear end? I want to avoid that. Been there done that and got some parts left from when it exploded going down the road. Not fun.

We have a 4-door Rubi and use it as our DD all the time. We have a business and use it to haul merchandise and do errands. We love it and don't ever regret getting and using it for a DD.
