Electrical malfunction sparks fire, destroys 2 vehicles in Lancaster Twp.

KONSTANTINE FEKOS | Staff Writer 23 hrs ago (1)

An electrical malfunction in a 2010 Jeep Wrangler sparked a fire that engulfed the Jeep and destroyed a car parked next to it early Monday morning in Lancaster Township, according to fire officials.

Fire crews were dispatched around 2:11 a.m. to the 600 block of Wyncroft Lane in the Kensington Club apartment complex.

The owner of the Jeep reportedly heard his car alarm go off and went outside to see the fire fully involved.

He told emergency responders he parked the vehicle Sunday and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary, Lancaster Township fire Lt. Greg Leaman said.

The second vehicle destroyed was a 2001 Buick Century reportedly bearing a Nevada license plate.

Both vehicles were a total loss. The estimated cost of damages for the Jeep totaled $36,000, fire officials said.

No estimate was released for the Buick.

Fire crews remained on scene for over an hour. No injuries were reported.

A) I wonder if the car alarm install was the cause of the electrical fire? wouldn't that be ironic.
B) How is a 2010 JK worth $36K? smh
