That is how the dealers work around here alot as well....you pay MSRP, or close to...but they tend to give you really good trade in prices...in my case, they gave me over retail sell price of my trade in.

When I did the online price comparison with cheap price on the Jeep, but only so-so on the trade in...the end price worked out real close to the same $$$

I'm in Austin, TX - can you name the dealer you didnt want to deal with? At least a hint. I had a similar experience shopping for a ford truck and have been thrilled (as have friends) with the truck and dealer further out of town (buda in that instance). Thx.
