In my experience Chrysler doesn't try too hard to fix problems. Mine has been leaking since November 07 and has been in the shop 11 times since then. It has been looked at by 2 specialists and now Chrysler tells me they won't do anything else for me unless I let them have it for 2 days (they refuse to provide me with a loaner car) and one of the "specialists" from Detroit will come to Indy to check it out. I told them to forget it. They have had plenty of opportunity to do that already and haven't. The last time I had it in, it came back with red paint all over it. They had to have it for another morning to get that resolved. We asked for a new top and Chrysler refused. I have already spoken with an attorney and I am filing against Chrysler on Monday. I don't want a buy-back because I have done mods to mine and Chrysler says I have to put it back to its original condition before they will take it back. I truly do love my JK but having a wet seat every time it rains (last time was less than .10 of an inch and it was wet) is more than I can take.

I went through the lemon law process sept 07 and had a check by jan 08. It was at dealer 6 times for water leaks , after 2 time i sent cert letter to jeep, address given to me by state of nj (lemon law) , letting them know this was there finally chance to fix , they never responded back. At that time i called lemon lawyer,no charge to me,he did the rest. At repair 6 they were able to get leaks to stop,so i took the cash settlement. It was not hard, but you document everything ,take pics everytime it leaks and keep taking it back every time it leaks.Good luck

Well... the sunrider bows work wonderfully... But the damn top is leaking like a sieve now!!! Same leak over the door handles, PLUS a new set of leaks coming down the A-pillars.

Hate to hear stories like this....have you checked the door surround knobs?

I just checked mine and the surround is loose but the knobs are tight. That thread explains that the threaded rod pulls out of the knob when tightened causing the door surround to not properly clamp down. Since i never take them off i am going to replace with bolts

Yep... i saw that one... everything is nice and tight though.

I contacted the service manager as told to do in the lemon law manual. This is repair attempt 4. MA lemon law only requires you to pursue lemon law after attempt 3, but I figure I'll play by Chrysler's rules (As I see it possibly working a little better in my favor by doing so).

Once thats done, they still have to figure out the "mystery" grinding when I make turns. Nobody has been able to solve that one yet.. haha
6 times, eh? Must be time for lemon law . I've basically come up with a new gameplan. I graduate in 2010, right about the time my warranty will be over. I also figure that by then, most of the quirks will be sorted out.

So, I'm thinking I'll ride out the next 2 years with limited mods (Maybe some seat covers, and 1/2 doors) and after graduation, I'll trade her in for a new Rubi. I should have went for the lease!!!

I love my jeep... I hate the quirks...

I must say they were very good in my case. I had an 06 Rubi with all kinds of problems, repetitive with the AC (8 times), new engine @12k and I had my fill. I almost traded it in on a Toyota Tundra with the IForce v8 385hp truck. But the service manager at my dealership asked me to hold off while the nationwide Chrysler rep was making rounds in Houston so he could talk to him. A week later they called me in and made an offer to prevent me from doing a DMV lemon law. They bought back my 06 @MSRP and I added 3500 to the pot and special ordered my own spec'd out 07 Rubi.

Chrysler made right by it is all I can say and it's the difference of dealing with a 5-star dealership and others, from sales to service it's been a good experience with the 07 JK.

Wow... not a bad deal. The manager I talked to said he was going to get in touch with a chrylser rep and ask him to come out for me. I dont see them replacing the Jeep at this point, but I sure as hell hope they take care of the leak so I don't have to deal with Lemon law.

Did you mention to the dealership you were going to pursue Lemon Law??? Or did they just assume?
