I ordered a Rubicon, and I am going to take out on the rocks. Driving it on the rocks doesn't mean I thrash it.

A skilled, and thoughtful driver can take a rig through some extremely tough stuff without bashing things up.

Since I am not very skilled, I rely on good spotting, knowing my limits, and some extra armor to keep my rig straight while I keep learning.

If you go about the challenge sensibly, then salt on the roads will do more damage to your rig than driving on the rocks will.

I come from Montreal, where there is more salt on the roads than asphalt.

I agree fully with the above statement. The sheetmetal in the best of vehicles around here doesn't survive more than 6 or 7 years without occult damage. By 10 years, even with proper care, rust bubbles and streaks start popping up. It's disgusting. I wonder why people bother buying expensive rides knowing it'll go to hell in a few years.
