Default Lo Jack???

I have an 08 Unlimited Rubicon and am considering the Lo Jack Early Warning system. I had LoJack years ago prior to the Early warning system. Has anyone purchased it and what do you think? It saves about 10% on auto insurance. Cost for the regular system is $650, Early Warning is $995. Installation included at your home and no monthly service or contract. Any advice is appreciated.

X2 - my credit union is offering the Early Warning for $650. Just trying to decide if it's worth it.

I got the Lo-Jack when I bought my JK. Small price to pay, I think. Most likely I won't ever need it, but you never know. I think the only way to drive away a JK without THE key is to tow or trailer it, so the Lo-jack is probally like wearing a belt and suspenders. I dont have the paperwork handy to tell you the package I got, but it included a phone call to my phone numbers if the JK moves without my 'transponder' on my key fob being in the jeep. I just like the idea that if it is stolen they could catch the guy red handed and unaware.

Get it! They are good for peace of mind and they work well. I have found more than a few using the system.

Default LoJack

Be careful, just checked and the Lo Jack tracking service is not available all over the country. It is available in limited places in the Pacific NW, and not it the Eugene Or. area. I remember this from years ago and before I pulled the trigger, I decided to check today and good thing I did, it is not. Not all law enforcement agencies have the tracking system.

Rubicon's are a hot theft commodity here in So Cal. They take them overseas. Rubi's are being ripped right out of people's driveway's. The CLUB only stops the rookie thief's. Professional's can get through it in about 30 seconds. I think Lo Jack is a good investment for the Rubi! I am not affiliated with Lo Jack in any way, just a concerned JK owner. BTW I installed it in my Sahara.
From the feedback, Not many of the Rubi's are recovered unless they have it.

Its a great system with a recovery rate of over 90%. I just checked with my LoJack contact. In Oregon the system only goes as far south as Salem. Its expected to be activated in Eugene area within a year.

JK Dawg, thanks for the info about Eugene. How dependable is this contact? I will wait if this info is correct.

Don't have one myself but have had heard that one of the weak links in the older systems was that they always placed the backup battery in the same place. The thieves would disable and pretty much leave the system useless after they turned the first corner. Hopefully you can request a specific spot on your rig that is not the norm. And, maybe they started using direct wire to the Jeeps battery as well.

Just some inside input.

FYI - I used to run a shop just in case anyone thought I may have had a shady history

He is very dependable, but he can only go off what he has heard is planned. You can always wait and add the LoJack after they are running in your area.
