Longest doorless trip???
I've had the doors off since March and really don't want to put them back on, but I've got about a six hour drive ahead of me. Pending decent weather I'm going for it! What's the longest trip you've taken topless and doorless?
I went to OBX for a long weekend. No doors with me, about 6-6.5 hrs each way. About 1/2 way there it started to pour rain, so I put the roof up and continued on. I stayed dry but it was cool so I used the heater. Gotta love the jeeps heater. The trip home was clear roofless and doorless for 6 hours. I was trired though at the end of the ride.
I drove from Davenport, IA to Kalamazoo, MI and back doorless (4 1/2- 5hrs each way) and the only bad thing is some of the cross winds on the interstate will take your breath away! I'm with you, I've had mine off since march and don't care to put them back on unless it's gonna rain for an extended period of time...like for a month straight! I say go for it, worse case scenario you'll have a fond memory of that time you hated life for 6hrs...
15 hour round trip from SE PA to NE PA and back to go pickup a camper. Left about 2:30 in the morning and the drive out was great but the way back it was humid and in the high 90s to low 100s and got stuck in construction traffic which was brutal.

I'm hoping to take a trip with top down and all 4 doors off from North Chicago, IL to Louisville, KY on the 22nd of this month weather pending. i might just say screw it and do it any way...lol...Its going to be about a 6 hour drive or longer b/c I will be follow a U-Haul Truck and 2 other cars there...
My longest trip has probably been about an hour, but in nice perfect weather. I usually take my wife and kids on any real long trips and put the doors back on for their safety and convenience on the highway. I'm still planning that trip to Moab by myself though. Will be doorless the whole way! Even through the rockies on I-70!
2.5 hrs mostly highway. Backroads at 30-45 are fine but the highway is a different animal. 65-75 mph beats the hell out of you. I'm use to riding bikes but driving the Jeep was totally different. I both loved and hated every minute of it.
Bring a jacket as listed and call me a wuss but ear plugs and riding glasses aren't a bad idea.
Depends on your speeds but the cross winds can be brutal!
