Default MFG: Your Bumper Pricing?

Why are all the JK bumpers considerably more than the price of an equivalent TJ bumper? All the aftermarket lift kits are basically priced the same for JK's and TJ's so why the higher price?

jks are pretty new.

new translates into: expensive after market.

I remember a manufacturer responding to this question awhile ago. Im searching for the thread but I cant find it. They basically said that the JK bumpers cost alot more to produce, because the JK's body lines are harder to match due to more contours. The TJ's and YJ were basically straight....

Edit: Oh wait that was about rocksliders.. Im not sure if bumpers were addressed in that thread too. I'll keep searchin lol

If you look at some of the TJ Bumpers of similar build and quality with integraded winch mounts they are almost the same price.

it is rediculous to pay that amount for pieces of steel welded together. it's pretty sad.

I ordered an AEV when they first came out, and paid about $900.00. That was back in Dec.06. Im quite happy with the design and workmenship of the bumper.
I ordered an ARB for my 94XJ at a cost of $699.00 back in 96. I was happy with the workmenship of the ARB.
Taking into consideration almost 10 years difference, I don't think the cost increase of $200 is that bad. I feel the AEV is every bit as well made as the ARB, and looks better also.
