Default Michelin LTX A/T2s or Nitto Terra Grappler G2s

I need new tires for my 2014 JKU Rubicon and can't decide between the Michelin LTX A/T2 and Nitto Terra Grappler G2s. I don't need serious off road tires and do a lot of highway driving. The Michelins are pretty tame looking and cost more, but will ride better, provide better gas mileage and still do light duty off road. The Nittos look better, but are heavier and will be a bit noisier on the highway and less fuel efficient. Both should last 60k miles.

I'm deciding today.

Thoughts?

My thoughts are to forget about those two choices and go with Goodyear duratrac. They are a fantastic tire and lots of people on here use them, including myself. I bought mine 1.5 yrs ago from simpletire.com and could not be happier. The duratracs look good, are quiet, good in rain and snow. Also fine off road.

I'm not sure the Michelin tire will give you snow performance if that's a concern for you but will absolutely net better mileage. The bfg all terrain would be a decent compromise of the two tires. I ran them exclusively for years and they last quite a while.

take a look at the Cooper AT/3. A very good tire on the road in rain and snow, as well as moderate trails. A good price and a very good warranty. Click image for larger version

Put a set of these on the wifes JKU about 3 years ago, and couldn't be happier. They are very quiet on the road and took very little weight to balance. They have very little wear, however since I bought them at Sears I got the lifetime balance and do 5 tire rotation ever 3000 - 4000 miles. Thay have been a very good tire.
On the other hand the new Cooper ST-Maxx looks like a well rounded tire Click image for larger version

ID:	643298 I have no personal knowledge of these, but they have gotten very good reviews. Oh, BTY Cooper tires are made in the USA.

How are they for highway driving? I drive from Boston to NYC every other week.

Thanks guys. I'm now leaning toward the Duratracs. I assume no issues with putting 265/70R17s on the stock 2014 Rubicon wheels which take 255/75R17s

The 265/70-17 tire will be a little wider and shorter than the 255/75-17 tire, other than that they will fit the rims and Jeep just fine with no contact

The 265/70-17 is the stock size for the 10A Rubi, so they'll work without issue and you'll pick up a little gas mileage....or at least I did when I went to that size. I'm back on 285/70-17's now because the 265's were too small.

I live in nj. I've driven to Boston. Multiple trips to NC. Multiple trips from central NJ to cape may. You won't be disappointed with duratrac.
