Minor accident - damage report
The other night I was driving down a road on RIT campus and ran over a bus stop sign that was in the middle of the road for some reason. I was looking in my side mirror looking at a van that stopped on the other side with damage on the front, then BAM *grinding*.
The bus stop's weighted bottom hit my front end. Ripped the air dam off, snapped my drag link, bent my tie rod, crushed my stabilizer, bent my track bar, made a gash in my front D30 cover with a dent, the metal part near the location for e-disconnects is crushed, and it went through to the back and dented my mid pipe, and dented my rear frame.
No bodily damage, no fluid leaks (other than stabilizer), and I'm hoping everything will be fine. It is being towed to a "specialist" in Albion, NY and insurance is paying for everything. The sign was supposed to be on the other side of the road, and somehow it was laying flat in the middle of my lane and I ran over it. I ran over the weighted part on the bottom.
Might as well enjoy the Sirius radio in my Kia Rio rental car.

I would upgrade if I could. But insurance will only pay for OEM parts.
Need a new front axle too. Total cost with labor is $7,000 bucks. OUCH. Hey... I only pay the $500 deductible.

I work full time and go to school full time. The best bet is to have a shop fix everything for me right now. I'm driving a 2009 Dakota as a rental, so I can't complain really.
The shop is top notch from what I have heard and seen. The shop will install my MBRP catback and buff my paint for me as well.

It wasn't a stop sign. It was one of those portable bus stop signs with the iron and concrete bottoms. The heavy part hit smack dab in the middle of my front axle. They said the front axle is bent.
