I am sorry to hear about your bad luck.
It truly is a darn shame, its just impossible to find good shops in my neck of the woods, so I feel your pain. Hold in there, at least you and your wife didn't get harmed in this incident.

Wow! Now I'm wondering if there is a reputable provider anywhere in the Louisiana/Mississippi area that can do gears. I would like to get re geared at some point, but want to avoid your experience...

That really SUCKS ! Glad you are okay. wiser and poorer but lesson learned.
there is no place that really specializes in jeeps or 4x4 around me. I have to either go to Big Bear or Pismo, both 2.5 to 3 hours away !!
I feel your pain !! We had a local shop here that had similar drama and has now gone out of business..........
