I must have looked up the wrong transmission.

Regardless, the point is the same and actually makes using 2nd gear all the easier... I wonder (and perhaps I'm missing something) why folks see the 241J (2.72) as superior to the 241OR (4.1) in environments other than rocks.

As for activating in 4-Hi... yup... did that a long time ago by installing my own wiring harness. (didn't like the method of tapping into the relays)

I'll have to guess (because I am not a mud person) that they like the wheel speed available in the mud, especially with an automatic.
