New Retractable Jeep Top
Hey guys, for the past two years I have been designing a new top for Wranglers based on opinions and feedback from the Jeep community. Well, proud to say, I made it as a Semi-finalist on the SEMA Launch Pad Competition. If you think this is a good idea click on the link and vote for Trac-Top. Thanks a ton!

I would cast my vote but, I don't use Fakebook..Not a bad concept at all!

:sad2: I really don't get it. People spend so much effort to have a damn sunroof on a vehicle that you can take the entire freagin top off of. Is it THAT hard to remove freedom panels or chunk the sunrider portion of a soft top over? yah yah yah, I get it, but if you want a sunroof, go buy a sedan. : 2cents : Same goes for the best top thing that mates to the hard top and you can just throw back.

The part of this post that made sense is "I really don't get it". Obviously. The rest? Just a condescending ramble. If someone wants to mod the Jeep in this way, good for them. Where do you get off telling someone to just go buy a sedan. A real jeeper gets that people modify Jeeps to reflect THEIR personality, not yours!
Your opinion is noted. I'll stick with mine and continue to say whatever is on my mind, thanks. Maybe I'm not a "real" jeeper. Welcome to the Forum. I hope you enjoy some trouble-free years with your rig. :2thumbs: |
Great concept. The real genius is the rain drain feature.
I love the idea that you can "live dangerously" by having the sunroof open during iffy rain conditions and just close it when it actually starts sprinkling. Useful for driving in the mountains also where you might want to close it real quick in the cold valleys but open it as you drive out of them which can happen several times an hour. Also for people in Florida/Hawaii etc. will appreciate it because you can get rained on out of the clear blue sky several times a day any time. One thing I'll mention design wise is that you should REALLY consider putting the roll mechanism near the windshield and have the shade close toward the rear, instead of the way it is now. If someone pulls that shade forward while driving on the highway there's a good chance it'll catch wind and rip the fabric/destroy the shade. If you simple have them start at the windshield and pull toward the rear instead you eliminate that probability. Good luck! |
Any updates?

Does it cure the water leaks? If not, I pass, if it does, I am interested.
