Yes I'm also curious to see if this "new version" is easy to take down and put back up easy as I'm looking for a summer solution. I do live in sunny so cal ya know

do the trektops require all the hardware about the cabin like the factory soft tops do? I love having a soft top but sometimes I wish it were just fabric instead of all the ripples bumps and whatnot up there... i like a clean "smooth" look i guess...

Yeah they do require the door surrounds to work.. If they didn't there would be quite a gap between your roll bars and your doors. The trektops come with their own door surrounds though, so anyone out there with just a hardtop will be able to pick one of these up and not worry about tracking down door surrounds.

I'm waiting to order mine. Will do it next month and put it on ASAP. I thought the new one had side windows that remove. I'm I wrong? I don't see that in the catalogs.

The new one does have side windows that remove. It's called the Trektop NX. It is not available to purchase yet. The one that is available to purchase now isn't the NX version. It's the old version that does not have removable side windows.
