No more Bestop
Strike 1:
I have dual tops. Opened brand new soft top box this Spring to discover I had two passenger side door channels (rather than 1 driver side / 1 passenger side). Trip to dealer to get a replacement part (fortunately they had one).
Strike 2:
Ordered Element doors (for Unlimited). Rear latches did not fit correctly. Rear doors returned and new set ordered. Same problem with new doors. After a month Bestop admits "yes, there is a problem with the latch on '09 models" and will ship new set via ground (not next day). Will have them in 7-10 days.
Strike 3:
Ordered Mesh Safari top. Header unit contained only 7 of 8 required bolts and 6 of 8 lock nuts. Trip to hardware store required.
No more Bestop products for me !

thats horrible that just makes me mad hearing stuff like that happening. thats just BT being LAZY. 99% of all mistakes happen when someone is either not paying attention or lazy. im really hesitant to order stuff from companies that do not have top notch customer service. hope everything works out.
Bestop has great products, but agreed they need better QC. We are still waiting for our replacement TrekTop due to the rear window incorrectly sewn J-hooks (aside from the fact it leaks and has stitching coming out on one side after only a few weeks of use). Our Mesh Bikini top was missing one of the straps that secure the middle roll bar...still waiting for that too.
They do stand by their warranty however; and have been great each time I've contacted them and seem more than willing to fix/replace everything; however I have to go through the vendor I purchased them from so have to deal with the whole "middle man" thing.

They used to be a great company with excellent products and good CS. One of the best. Now most of their products are poorly made. Great ideas that are poorly executed at best. (trek top leaks, element doors have gaps all around/doesn't match shape of door, bumpers not braced for winching) etc. I wonder how much they are responsible for all the leaks of the JK in general. Did they design that top or just make it for Jeep?

I like my bikini top but that mf'r is TIGHT where it pops into the door surrounds. Like ridiculous tight, almost "break your fingers trying to slip the plastic into the channel" tight.
